Philosophy

Music is an ever-changing, active, growing entity.  As a teacher, I approach the learning of any instrument with grace and dignity, yet with a spirit of adventure and discovery, choosing to learn from my students as they learn from me.
"Education is not the filling of a bucket, but the lighting of a fire."  ~William Butler Yeats

I believe the daily discipline of practice is vital to accomplishing any new goal, and music is no exception.  I expect my students to spend ample time attending to their instrument each day if they are to make any progress.

I believe that every student is unique, and therefore their learning styles also are.  No two lessons will ever be alike.

No matter what it is we are working on, I strive to provide a place of inspiration and growth for the student.
"Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and Life to everything." ~Plato
